    Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at enquiries@kingsmanfireandsecurityltd.co.uk if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Most automatic bollards are powered by a 230V mains supply or low-voltage transformer. Press the remote fob and the bollard raises or lowers in 2–5 seconds. Most systems include a manual override key/switch in case of power failure.

So long as it is being positioned onto your own private land, then you do not need any planning permission to install a bollard.

Most automatic bollard installations take a day, including electrical work. If cabling needs to be run a significant distance, it may take a full day or two days depending on what is involved we'll confirm the timeframe in your quote.

We always carry out a visual check on site, along with a CAT scan to detect any underground services. This scan is included within the installation charge, and is one of the most important safety aspects of our work.

Yes they are. All of the automatic bollards within our range are
supplied pre-wired with approx 5-10 lin mtrs of cable. This cable simply needs to be connected back to the control panel.

The control panel supplied with your bollard system has been designed to ensure the connection and set up from your bollards is a straight forward process. Our customers receive our own easy to follow
instructions and if you ever need any help, one of our technical team is on hand to offer you assistance.

Yes we do, but it would obviously depend on where you are based. If you would like to have one of our technical team commission the system for you, simply give us a call to see what we can do.

Automatic bollards have a built in electrical brake which acts as a lock. The brake will activate when the bollard has fully risen and release itself when you lower the bollard(s).

No, the signal from the control panel can not be cloned. The control panel uses over 5 million random codes which are randomly activated each time you use a remote control.

Quality automatic bollards are rated for 50,000+ cycles, which translates to 10–15+ years of typical residential use. We supply 230v bollards with a 12 month warranty and can service or repair units as needed.

All our 230v automatic bollards include a manual override — you can lower the bollard using an override switch if the power fails.
